Elvira Lundgren, a prominent Swedish social media influencer, recently sent shockwaves through the internet with a captivating video. The footage features her hair transforming into a spectacular ice crown as she braves the -30°C temperatures of northern Sweden.

Lundgren’s viral clip not only entertains online audiences but serves as a poignant reminder of the severe weather gripping the nation, where bone-chilling temperatures are causing widespread disruption and challenges for many Swedes.

In her video caption, Lundgren expressed, “Temperatures have reached -30°C, and I just had to do a little experiment.”

Social media platforms are now inundated with peculiar tales of the Arctic blast’s impact, ranging from frozen car doors and beardcicles to pets sporting impromptu fursicles. While Lundgren’s frozen hair steals the spotlight, it underscores the tangible difficulties posed by this frigid episode.

Meanwhile, Sweden recorded its coldest January night in 25 years, registering a staggering minus 43.6 degrees Celsius in the far north during a recent cold snap that swept across the Nordics.

Lind revealed that the record-breaking measurement was taken at the Kvikkjokk-Arrenjarka station in Sweden’s far north, marking the lowest temperature ever recorded at this specific spot since measurements began in 1888. Several other stations in Sweden’s north reported temperatures below minus 40°C.

Despite the residents’ familiarity with freezing temperatures, the recent cold snap forced local bus operators to suspend services. Train operator Vy announced on Tuesday the cancellation of all trains north of the city of Umea for several days, emphasizing the widespread impact of this extreme weather episode on transportation services.
